BAE Systems

Having reviewed a range of OHS training options, in 2004 BAE Systems selected e3Learning’s online OHS training as part of a wider OHS training regime covering 3000 employees. There was a short project to customise the courseware to fit in with BAE Systems processes. Most employees have now been through the OHS Fundamentals course, and the appropriate employees have had access to the full range of OHS courses.

“This affordable online training has allowed us to provide consistent, high quality training
to all staff.”

OneSteel

e3Learning has worked in close collaboration with OneSteel in the development of training that covers company induction, safety induction and area specific training for employees at their Whyalla Steelworks operations. Over 30 topics are covered, and range from working at heights, isolation and driving safety, through to plant specific hazards such as gas safety and emergency evacuation.

The courses developed use a range of illustrative and interactive activities (including an illustrative animation that steps through each part of the process of steel making), images, audio and text to provide comprehensive training for OneSteel employees and contractors.

“We thank e3Learning and its staff for their commitment, innovation and willingness to work collaboratively. We are very pleased with the program, and it has been well received by OneSteel and its contractors.”

Amcor

e3Learning has worked in collaboration with Amcor to develop a series of driver safety courses for a range of different truck types. The courses develop awareness of key hazards present in the process of loading and unloading different loads with different trucks.

Each course uses a mix of interactive workplace simulations, interactive activities, images, audio, text and assessment to provide comprehensive safety training for Amcor drivers and contractors.

“The courses perfectly balance the serious nature of safety training with the fun and innovation needed to maintain the learner’s interest. Learner feedback has confirmed that the interactive nature of the learning environment is the key to gaining the driver’s confidence and interest in the
learning package”

Mission Australia

Having reviewed a range of OHS training options, Mission Australia selected e3Learning’s online OHS training as part of a wider OHS training regime. To increase the relevance of the training and incorporate internal policies and procedures, they chose to customise each program to their requirements, and the courses now incorporate and reflect Mission’s terminology and processes within activities and course content. The first program, OHS Fundamentals, has now been released to more than 3,000 employees.

“e3Learning's training has provided Mission Australia with a simple solution to the problem of consistently training a large number of employees scattered across the country, some in regional or remote areas. The programme enables us to provide consistent information through training to all employees. The course content is innovative and can be customised to varying degrees and allows staff to complete the training in small ‘chunks’ or in one hit. Tracking training is easily done through the Learning Management System and is easily disseminated to managers via e-mail. Mission Australia is moving towards meeting an 85% completion rate of the OHS Fundamentals training programme and is implementing other programmes including risk management and accident investigation to all levels
of management.”

Eldercare

Being able to work with IL (e3) in the development of this course and have input on its content and structure through a funding consortium working group was a major plus for us. IL (e3) was able to work with a traditional industry area embarking on a significant education technology upgrade and be highly responsive to needs, concerns, IT skills/knowledge gaps of end-users.

They possess a combination of solid educational and IT expertise allied with the ability to support clients.

Anglicare

The highlight for us as an organisation was the willingness of our staff to use their home computers and their own hours to complete the modules. We did, however, pay for two hours on presentation of their certificates. This program is now an integral part of our induction and accreditation processes and something that our staff has embraced. This will enable us to offer more training online.
